I believe that everyone should follow the same rules as that is what sparks rebellion. I will try to give as much freedom but installing rules to stop conflicts. My first rule is that only the authorities will have the permission to use violence but a thorough investigation will follow. Self-defence will not be punished but will be investigated, if there is evidence to suggest non-self defence violence will be punished.Racism or any forms of discrimination will be considered extremely disrespectful and given hard prison time. Finally from birth a child has complete freedom from his parents. I am not saying that their parents do not look after them but things like enrolling them in boarding schools and forced marriages will all be abolished.

Killing is never allowed. The death penalty would be abolished (lead by example) and police are forbidden to shoot to kill (only the police with the most training would be allowed to carry guns) and murder earns lifetime imprisonment. This would create a more peaceful and trustful society with a lower death toll and more responsibility for actions.

One of my laws is that you are not able to harm any citizen in any shape or form, whether it is mental or physical. A society where killing and harming is legal would lead to a dark place where survival is the main concern on everyone’s mind. People would kill, fight and threaten their neighbours which would lead to everyone having to watch there back at all times. This rule would allow people to feel more comfortable, relaxed and to live without worry.

I would make rules such as making it illegal to murder or kill someone without reasonable cause, I choose this because I don’t want the whole population to turn on each other and have a survival of the fittest country. Another rule would be no stealing, I choose this because the person you are stealing from worked hard to buy this thing and you can’t just take it away from them. Another rule would be sharing minimal amount of food, everyone will have a minimum amount of food that they get from the government each week if they need it, but you can obviously buy more if you have the money, this is a rule so my country doesn’t starve. Aswell as that I would make kidnapping illegal because you can’t take people away without there consent.

If you commit a small offence like stealing you may work hard and earn your rights back in the hopes you have learned something. Nobody should be given more rights because everyone should be seen as equals and entitled to the best living conditions

To be functional, every society needs at least a couple rules. The first rule I believe there should be is Don’t Kill Other Humans. I think this rule is very necessary as if anyone could kill anyone without consequences, the society would devolve into chaos, like in Thomas Hobbes’ ‘state of nature’. The second rule I believe there should be is Everyone Gets and Education. I believe this is important, as if everyone received a decent education, they’d hopefully be less susceptible to making stupid decisions and could contribute more to the society.

Everyone would have different rights at different stages of their lives. This is because at different stages their physical and mental abilities are different eg a child should not be allowed to vote because they aren't properly educated on the topic and have not enough life experience. Another example is the right to stop working and rest/pension elderly people should have the right to stop working as they aren't as capable as when they were younger and have worked most of their lives.

We can create a healthy society if we make fair rules that benefit everyone. We can’t be biased to one part of society it should be equal but everyone should work for their money and food and housing unless they are to or children.

No everyone would not have the equal rights. People who have committed serious crimes twice would not have so many rights as other people. If a person committed a serious crime (murder, assault, armed robbery etc not just not paying for parking ) they would be given an appointment with a pschyhiatrist and if found to be mentally unhinged they would get a life sentence in prison but if found to be fine they would go to prison and when out they would be given a second chance.

Yes I think everyone should be treated fairly and equal, this will help prevent arguments, crime and help people feel more safe in society. However I don’t think being treated fairly and being treated equally are the same thing for example, everyone getting the same amount of pay no matter how long or hard they work would be getting treated equally, this will discourage people from

Every person will receive the same right. Much of conflict comes from jealousy. Murder has often three reasons, Money, Love and revenge. People are jealous of others success and want their money. People are jealous of others happiness. Jealousy is a horrible trait in humans and causes much conflict. Jealousy can also be good it pushes a person to persue success and get what the other poccesses. If others do not have the same freedom and rights humanity will just be going backwards. To make a better life for all we must be on the same platform. And to achieve that we must all follow the same rules, have the same rights and not hate eachother. No other species kills one-another, we are the only ones and it is terrible.

Yes, everyone in my society would have equal rights and oppurtunities, no matter how different we all are from each other. This would lead to a society of acceptance, where there is no discrimination and no hatred towards other groups. I believe that this is one of the key laws that would create a stable and positive society. But not everyone would not be paid the same wage. Instead there will be a minimum wage that every single worker is entitled to, and people’s wealth may increase depending on their work ethic, how much they contribute to the building of the society, and the success of the people they are working for. This would lead to a decrease in the levels of homelessness as everyone has the right to a job, and inspire workers to work hard for whatever they want which they will be rewarded for.

Yes, everyone should have a set of basic human rights that they are entitled to no matter age, gender, skin colour , sexuality etc. If you violate any of the basic human rights it should be a crime. It would be the government’s responsibility to provide things like food/ shelter and everybody has the right to vote from the age of 18. These rules apply to anyone in the country not just people born here. In my opinion this is the only way a truly equal society can thrive.

I think everyone will have the same rights because in the end we all have the same brain, but if you are in jail you will have minimal rights only the right to food, sleep, water and exercise, they have these minimal rights because they were put in jail for a reason so the probably did something bad so they have the right to survive but not the right to enjoy it.

Teaching would be made a prestigious career, and pay very well. This would encourage more people to pursue teaching, and the more people are pursuing a certain career, the standards of that career increase, leading to not just more teachers, but generally, better teachers. People would get paid more for overtime, and covering other people shifts. This would encourage people to work harder and more, to better their lifestyle.

One thing I find unfair is when children are born into family’s with not many opportunities, they could be born into poor families and not get enough to eat or drink. I think this is unfair on the children but there is nothing we can do about this. Another thing I find unfair is when some people see a successful person and automatically think bad about them and assume they were just given success, I think they are successful because they worked hard, even though they were most often provided with great opportunities they still had to work hard and I think it is not a good idea for someone to take that away from them.

Everyone would have the same equal chances at a good education and a good future. I would ensure this by making all primary schools free and then provide scholarships to anyone who worked hard enough to get the grades to be accepted into any elite schools. If you have nit put in the effort and only have a enough qualifications to work in tesco then you will be payed minimal wage, you can still put in the work and get a good job and be payed more but if you do not you will continue to be payed minimal wage. If you work hard and get a good job you will be payed what u deserve for that job.

To have a honest and progressive society everyone should be payed equally for example if a man was doing the same job as a women and the man was getting 10% more wage for the same job and sometimes maybe the women may be working extra hours and a better work but still not having the same wage. I would never see that in my society as women and men will get the same wage for the same jobs so that we don’t create an atmosphere that there is a superior gender and in my view men and women have equally the same abilities

Yes, I would definitely have schools in my society. I think it is important that all children receive an education so they can learn about all the essential subjects in life, primarily science, history and philosophy. I believe these 3 subjects are important as they have a mixture of factual information and moral decisions. Science would be extremely effective as it could teach people the science behind life, and other important topics such as global warming. History would teach people not to make the same mistakes that were made by others in the past. Philosophy would teach people how to look at viewpoints from different perspectives. A combination of these subjects would truly benefit a society and its people, especially a democratic society.

Yes, schools are essential to have a well educated population and to teach basic life skills.every child must go through primary and secondary school and at least one course of college to ensure maximum quality of life and a high functioning society. Uniforms should be banned and self expression and individuality and diversity should be encouraged. Students mental health should also be made prioritized and study skills should be widely taught.

Schools are vital its great for kids to make friends and be educated but the subjects will be different. They will be taught languages that are alive and enjoyed - not Irish because it is a dying language but French and German are alive. These will be mandatory. Then PE because they need to be fit and healthy and one I think is extremely important is Mental health education because a lot of people are scared to talk about such a topic and don't know much about it so these are also mandatory. Then we will embrace the kids talents setting up courses so the can enjoy, improve and learn from them, there is no point in judging a fish on its ability to climb a tree. Then your usual compulsory subjects can be optional but must pick 4 from. NO exams will be taking place rather a continuous assessment of your best work because exams put a lot of pressure and stress on people who are too young

Through philosphy classes and a very good anology of school I have changed my opinion and believe that school is essential and acctually quite effective. I would just change the curriculum to be more relatable to life. The analogy was ‘imagine maths as pushups when in life are you going to use pushups, you wont. It is the overall physique that you will see come from these. Maths and school carves you into you, it just makes you a complete and best version of yourself.

- A philosopher we studied this term was Thomas Hobbes who looked at what life would be like without a governing state or individual leader. He described this life as violent, brutal and short due to the fact that there were no laws. People would be living in constant fear and terror of the people around them. I completely agree with Thomas Hobbes’ perspective on this idea as I think it would be disastrous to have no laws. Imagine we introduced this idea right now. What would people do? Who would be killed and why? Would people try and live on like before? There are so many questions about what would happen, and the disastrous effects that this would have. Although a life without laws may be seen as freedom, who would really want it? Who would want to have to look behind them every day? Who would want to feel constant fear? I believe that most people on this planet would rather have laws preventing many things, than having freedom full of fear and darkness.

Confucius was a Chinese teacher and philosopher who wrote a famous book The Analects which contains his sayings and ideas. He says a state will work well when it is ruled by a virtuous or noble leader. He says a noble leader is like the North Star: it dwells in its place and the other stars pay its respect. If a person can become virtuous, they should little difficulty in taking part in politics. I do agree with this but only as long as the leader is voted in by the people. I think people should have to pass a test or marality. I would have some system in place to ensure they are a good genuine person before letting them run.

I agree a bit with plato because the ruler should be wise but it shouldn’t have to be a philosopher because that doesn’t mean that they would know how to run a country or how to solve every problem because if there were to be another depression they might not be able to help or they might not be able to do anything in a war.

The philosopher I have choose is Jean Jacques Rousseau, I do not agree with him that the people should come up with there own rules because obviously everyone is going to say this until the government people decided you know what I’m going to start taking over this place, and no ones going to stop them because there is no ruler or leader to tell them you have to stop them from trying to take over all of you and the leader or ruler would deal with this problem and put a stop to it if they were there. So in the end there would be a leader anyway because he said there would be a government to enforce the rules so already there will be people with more rights and power then the average person who came up with the rights themselves

Thomas Hobbes believe that Security is better than Freedom. He justified this by imagining a world without rules. He called this the ‘state of nature’. He believed life the the ‘state of nature’ would be grim; as any one could do what they want, poor; as anyone rich would be killed for their money, and short; people would kill people just to survive, or for fun.

Plato says that a wise ruler would be best for society and that the Philosopher will know perfect justice and she will use her knowledge as a blueprint for how life in this world should be. I disagree with him in the sense that their should only be one ruler who knows everything because that leader will not be able to see a good or a fair society from other peoples perspectives and will only see goodness how she sees it.

I disagree with Platos statement he says he thinks there should not be no one person in charge, he believes that democracy is best. I strongly disagree with that, I think dictatorship is the best option, in my opinion there must be a dictator. The public can give the dictator suggestions but I strongly think there must be 1 person that can out-rule everyone. There must be one person that has the final say. I do not think the dictator always has to be the most ethical person, he just has to be educated and make decisions without being indecisive.

I mostly agree with Jean Jaques Rousseau and his thinking of what makes a fair society. He says that everyone has a right to choose the rulers under which they live. I think this is a bad idea and conflict could arose with this but he then mentions that they could possibly also need a government to enforce the rules people come up with. I think that if everyone has a right to choose the rulers under which they live they will also need a government because I feel like there will be too much conflict without. I think his idea is really interesting and could work out very well. I also feel like loads of people would like this idea and would like to live there lives that way.

Thomas Hobbes has a really intelligent idea. Like I was saying about jealousy in humans Hobbes also talks about how humans have a brutal nature and will fight over anything. Hobbes believed that if two people wanted something they would fight to get it like a ‘competion’. I think that he is correct in that statement and without a powerful state conflict will rage through humanity. Without rules and rulers the world will fall into a deep, dark hole. A leader also must be virtuous like Confucios stated.
