I think it's a feeling, an emotion. everyone is entitled to happiness cause it is a great feeling and it should be shared not kept

I agree but it's a long lasting emotion. Not just like winning a match. I think happiness an emotion that makes you feel elated and joyfull there are different types of happiness; elation and joy are types of happiness

Happiness is subjective, and depending on what that happiness stems from will determine if the person is “entitled” to happiness.

According to Aristotle, happiness exists in achieving, through the course of a whole lifetime, all the goods — health, wealth, knowledge, friends, etc. — that lead to the perfection of human nature and to the enrichment of human life. This requires us to make choices, some of which may be very difficult.Happiness is not a state but an activity.I think happiness can be that but you can also just be happy if you got a new dog or you dud well in test. You are happy then but maybe not the same kind of happy that aristotle was talking about

People who are happy or give out happiness deserve happiness it’s like karma someone who is really mean and sends out negativity doesn’t deserve happiness

It doesn’t matter if you are entitled to happiness or not, it only matters if someone takes your happiness away.

Yes, just because someone has had a rough past doesn’t mean they aren’t allowed be happy, it doesn’t mean that that person should be different from others for example imagine everyone who was nice and kind got happiness and people who weren’t happy didn’t get happiness that’s not gonna make there life any better but giving them happiness would help maybe.

Even of you are not equally good every person deserves a chance at happiness, you can always better yourself from your mistakes but this does not mean you deserve eternal unhappiness

But what if they can’t be nice to people. What if they can’t do anything but cry, which makes people sad they’re not trying to but they’re still making people sad.If people make a choice to be mean, can they not change? Do they never deserve happiness

Happiness can be different for everyone. Its a feeling meaning it can very for everyone. Happiness for one can mean friends and family whereas for some it can mean watching people or animals suffering for example. People who are generally good and spread positivity 100% are entitled to some aspects of happiness but unfortunately happiness wont always be there. What would be the point in emotions if you can only feel one? People who haven’t done good to the world and have spread hatred might not want the typical “happiness” and their happiness might consist of the complete opposite for some

I think that everyone should have a chance at happiness, but not everyone is entitled to happiness. People may throw away a chance of happiness, or do something that isn’t seen as good, and then maybe they aren’t entitled to happiness.

Yes, I think everyone is entitled a CHANCE of happiness. Emphasis on chance, because if people don’t use there chance to be happy and go off and murder someone then, they don’t deserve another chance of happiness. But I think that’s only for people that do things that massively impact other people, but little mistakes deserve another chance, so yes everyone is entitled to happiness unless they use that chance in a bad way.

I think people’s happiness isn’t entitled to you it depends on what makes you happy and what you enjoy. If you want to be happy it’s your choice and the lifestyle you live. For example if playing sport makes you happy but baking doesn’t you should choose to play sport.

I think everyone deserves to feel happiness at least once in their life, but sometimes they never get the chance to feel happy. Many people get the chance of happiness and take it for granted. While other people aren't fortunate to feel happy and are constantly surrounded in misery. People who have had a rough past or are going through tough times, should still be able to feel happiness. I know that some people think that they don’t deserve to be happy or even feel okay with themselves because of certain reasons. Though everyone should be able to get the chance of happiness or to be content with themselves. Some people have felt happiness and not known that they have, there really is no proper definition of happiness. Happiness is a privilege, and anyone who has truly felt happy should be grateful for the chance they had.

Yes everyone is entitled to happiness because everyone has there on rights , we all say we have rights but when it comes to a certain person that you don’t like we say they don’t have the rights just because we hate them but if you have never met someone you will say they have rights it’s just your opinion on someone will change your views of their rights

Where would you draw the line for who deserves to feel happy and who doesn’t. Everyone lives only once and taking away a major joy to life that is the only reason we get up in the morning would be wrong. Happiness is also an emotion and you can’t take it away for someone to never feel again as far as I’m aware so it be impossible. Yes there are very bad people in this world but taking away their happiness won’t make much difference instead they’ll just feel the other negative emotions powering making them still being a bad person if not worse solving absolutely nothing so it would be pointless

I don’t think everyone is entitled to happiness because people have taken happiness away from others. Such as if someone murdered someone’s friend or family member I don’t believe that the person who murdered someone’s friend or family member is entitled to happiness

If you attempt or try to infringe on someone else’s happiness you do not deserve happiness yourself. If what makes you happy is at the cost of another persons happiness you do not deserve happiness. (5th year poltics class)

To relate the question to a quote by Abraham Lincoln, “Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves”. Why should a person who denies happiness to other people receive the luxury of happiness themselves? Why do they deserve happiness if they refuse it to others?

Everyone is entitled to happiness. How can we strive for equality in our society if you argue that not everyone is entitled to happiness. Factors such as crime, unkindness etc. are external factors which depend on much else, and shouldn’t Determine an individuals right to happiness.

Hurt people hurt people. Those who negatively impact others most likely are feeling a lot of unhappiness within themselves. Everyone deserves happiness if we want equality.
